Rev.com Freelancers Compensation Employee Reviews

What is the best part about your compensation package?

I'm not sure that there is a compensation package...

Review from Customer Support Dept

That it gives me good medical insurance

Review from Operations Dept

There really is not one, but the pay is good as long as you do your work.

Review from Admin Dept

The flexibility of hours and work assignments.

Review from Operations Dept

Competitive pay and equity with top tech companies.

Review from Product Dept

Working at this company is a freelance/independent contractor position and it doesn't offer other benefits besides payment. But, I love working with this company because you can do it right from home.

Review from Communications Dept

I'm paid above market rates. High base and solid amount of equity.

Review from Marketing Dept

Being able to get paid to work from home.

Review from Communications Dept

Perks + Salary + Stock options are balanced. Salary above industry average for Austin

I like that I can earn as much as I want based on my work.

Review from Communications Dept

Equity in early stage company

Review from Product Dept

That we get paid for the work we do every week and the more we work the more we are paid and appreciated.

Review from Customer Support Dept

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Not cutting our rates would be a good step.

Review from Product Dept

the amount of work needed to execute a single job does not match what it being paid to its freelancers, regardless, rev offers a great opportunity to make extra money working remotely. that said, does not allow enough time to learn the industry from the ground up. progress should be measured better

Review from Communications Dept

Expectations are unreasonable considering time and payment

Review from Operations Dept

It would be nice to have benefits.

Review from Product Dept

Pay is extremely low for some efforts

Review from Operations Dept

Our time isn't compensated, they don't always pay you and when they do it is lower than what it's supposed to.

Review from Operations Dept

They pay is really low

Review from Product Dept

There is no stability. We are replaceable cogs who are paid far less than minimum wage in the US.

Review from Communications Dept

Rev says they will give you a chance to improve your metrics, but they deactivate your account anyway.

Review from Operations Dept

The pay per minute is fair IF you can transcribe on a minute per minute scale. This is very difficult to do especially with harder videos. You often en up making less than minimum wage. I think their upcoming auto-transcribe program will make the compensation much more fair though.

Review from Product Dept

I am a freelancer, so don't expect benefits. However, the pay is woefully low.

Better pay per minute would help for those of us who don’t have a backup job. The jobs we get are usually hard to hear or require research. This eats up a lot of our time and our pay is based on per minute of video, not how much time it takes to type

Review from Product Dept

I feel I don't make enough for my time. They charge by the minute, but the translations are difficult and take more time.

I think that the work I do is worth a lot more. one time I managed to make 400 dollars but it was working from 7 in the morning until 10 at night. one day I actually stayed up until 5:30 in the morning and then got up at 9 in order to make money to be able to get that amount. I had to.

Review from Product Dept

Payments per job should be increased as many people are making like $3-4 an hour.

Review from Product Dept

Everything about working at Rev is as good as it gets. Except for the pay. The customer is getting a fantastic deal, as Rev has extremely high quality standards. When a top transcriptionist who types over 75+ wpm with over 20 years experience can barely make minimum wage there's a problem.

The pay continues to drop for comparable work. They have hired inexperienced people to do the same job which is causes issues for everyone.
