What are your coworkers at Rio Tinto like?
I was suprised by the minimal exposure some have in the mining industry. Very unique to see such a broad range of backgrounds working for a mining company, this sometimes leads to cost overruns and mistakes.
Most are good people.

If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at Rio Tinto?
I have nothing to share on this topic.
I would remove the good old boy mentality. I remove every manager that does not follow established company policy.
What do people at Rio Tinto think about the CEO? What do they do well and what can they improve?
The CEO JS, is a good man. JS is concerned with developing a low cost company of the future and returning shareholder value.
He is too absorbed in share holder value and does not value existing employees.
How's the work life balance at Rio Tinto?
Better than some similar companies but they will over work you if you allow it to happen.

Very political, small survivor group mentality.
