Dr. Muzammil M. Mansuri, also known as Muz, Ph.D., has been an Executive Vice President of Strategy & Business Development at Sanofi since February 22, 2016. Mr. Mansuri will be responsible for all Group strategic planning, business development, strategic intelligence, alliance management and the Sanofi Genzyme Bio Ventures fund. Dr. Mansuri served as Senior Vice President of Research, Development Strategy and Corporate Development at Gilead Sciences Inc. since April 2011. He served as the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Chairman of CGI Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (formerly, Cellular Genomics Inc.). He served as Senior Vice President of Research & Development Strategy and Corporate Development at Calistoga Pharmaceuticals, Inc. since 2011. Dr. Mansuri served as Senior Advisor for JSB-Partners, LP, having joined it in January 2006. He served as President and Chief Executive Officer of BIKAM Pharmaceuticals, Inc. He is a Partner at Gilliam Capital and an Advisor to JSB Partners. He joined Flagship in 2002. He served as the Chairman and Acting Chief Executive Officer of CGI Pharmaceuticals, Inc. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Mitotix from 1994 to 2000. He served as the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of GPC Biotech Inc., Boston, following GPC's acquisition of Mitotix in March 2000. Mr. Mansuri has more than 35 years of experience beginning in 1981 with Shell Research Limited where he began as a research scientist. He was Venture Partner and executive-in-residence at Flagship Ventures, where he was responsible for investment activities in the chemistry, drug discovery, drug development, genomics, proteomics and systems biology areas. Dr. Mansuri focused on product and business evaluation of prospective biotech companies and his chemistry expertise and business experience in drug discovery and development are valuable assets. He focused on identifying drug discovery and drug development ventures as well as technology solutions to important health-care problems. He served for nearly ten years at Bristol-Myers Squibb Company in various research positions, culminating in Director, Central Chemistry. He serves as an Executive Chairman at Adaptive Therapeutics, Inc. He serves as a Director of Acretia-and is an advisor to Alinea and Resolvyx. He serves as a Member of Scientific Advisory Board at Cubist Pharmaceuticals Inc. Dr. Mansuri serves as a Director of GenPath Pharmaceuticals. He serves as a Director at Endotis Pharma SA. He served as a Director of Aveo Pharmaceuticals Inc., Sequoia Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and Mitotix Inc. He served as a Director of BG Medicine, Inc. and BIKAM Pharmaceuticals, Inc. He completed postdoctoral fellowships at the University of California, Los Angeles and Columbia University. Dr. Mansuri holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry with honors and a Ph.D in Organic Chemistry from University College, University of London.
