If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at SapientNitro?
Go back to the basics and reinforce Sapient Core Values. Razorfish is much more old school/traditional and openness is less encouraged and appreciated now that we've merged with Razorfish. In fact, segregation is encouraged and a firmly fixed part of the office set up. Razorfish Senior Managers and above all get their own offices which means they're segregated from the rest of the team. Oddly enough, it's standard Razorfish practice to squeeze two employees to an office while large sections of desks sit quiet and empty. Encourage the traditional Sapient open-concept/flat hierarchy office setup to encourage interaction between team members.
What do people at SapientNitro think about the CEO? What do they do well and what can they improve?
With recent mergers, leadership is fragmented and ambiguous. There's SapientRazorfish, Publicis.Sapient (which includes DigitasLBI and Sapient Consulting), and Publicis Groupe. Each level has it's own CEO's, Presidents, Vice Presidents, and even Co-CEO's. It's hard to be critical of CEO performance because we're not quite sure who's the CEO of what.
How's the work life balance at SapientNitro?
Work life balance changes on a project basis. If you work on a relatively fast-paced, high demand project, staffing is usually good about placing you on a less demanding project afterwards to avoid burnout. Occasional work-from-home days are allowed.
Does SapientNitro have any remote positions?
Yes. Most offices have many more employees assigned to them than it seems. This is because many employees do not report to their respective offices and either work remotely or on the client site.
How does SapientNitro make decisions around promotions?
Only a specific number of promotion spots are available per region depending on company performance. Peer feedback and manager nominations decide who is considered for a promotion. Which nominee gets the promotion is decided on during a meeting in which managers essentially battle for their nominees.
How's the vacation policy at SapientNitro?
Legacy SapientNitro employees get 15 days for the first two full years of employment and then 20 days per year for 3+ years. Legacy Razorfish employees get 10 days for the first 3 full years, and then 15 days for years 3-9, then 20 days for 10-15 years.
What is the best part about your compensation package at SapientNitro?
Top Employee Response
For a company that claims to be a "major tech company," the stock/equity compensation is laughable in that it doesn't exist.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved at SapientNitro?
Top Employee Response
My excitement comes and goes. People who are not in tech (sales, PMs, etc.) get excited about boring work. Excitement is work dependent.
What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better at SapientNitro?
Top Employee Response
The best area of improvement for folks I work with on a daily basis is efficiency of time (i.e. yapping in meetings about irrelevant stuff).
What does the leadership team at SapientNitro need to get better at?
Areas for improvement here include communication to all employees, as well as listening to the thoughts, concerns and ideas of all employees
