Akhil Gupta is the CEO of Shine.com, India’s second largest job portal. He is responsible for defining and delivering the business strategy and providing overall leadership for Shine.com. He has 20 years of diverse experience across technology and internet companies in and outside India. He has held senior management and top leadership roles inlarge organisations and startup ecosystem. Prior to joining Shine, Akhil worked in multiple CXO roles at Healthkart – a leading digitalfirst health & wellness startup. He started as Chief Technology & Product Officer and laterally moved on to lead Strategic Growth Initiatives for Healthkart. He incubated and scaled multiple businesses in Sports Nutrition, Digital Health & Kids Wellness spaces. He also developed international expansion blueprint for the company. In his previous role, he was CXO at Zigwheels, a Times Internet Company in online auto category. He streamlined company operations and launched used car aggregation marketplace across major Indian metros. He also devised and implemented strategy for online car accessories platform. Later, he was in core Times Internet team that sold and successfully integrated Zigwheels business into Cardekho in 2015. In his earlier career, Akhil worked with Infosys & Globallogic in Technology, Business Development & Account Management roles. His major achievement during this phase was to define and implement digital strategy for Adidas – Infosys client – globally. Akhil did his management education from Insead, Singapore and B.E. from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh. He is actively involved in Angel Investing and has invested in multiple Indian startups. He is an avid reader and regularly shares his views on social media around technology, growth and startups.
