What do you like best about the leadership team?
C-suite does a good job of having high level visions for the company while also getting down in the weeds when required. C-suite often leads by example.
What makes you most happy at work?
Every time I build a feature it affects hundreds of thousands of merchants, and millions of buyers. I have the opportunity to have high impact at work.
What are some of the best things about your team?
Really passionate people, will always figure out a way to solve the the problem at hand. They are self-governing, have a lot of respect for the code bases we work in, and are eager to solve problems
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Shopify is now a fully remote company, yet the developers are still getting paid a slightly above average pay for developers in Canada. Now that office perks are gone, salary should be increased to balance compensation and stay competitive. Shopify wants to be FAANG, but FAANG pays ~1.5x more.
