Mr. William E. Gentner, also known as Bill, has been Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President of Stage Stores Inc. since June 2014. Mr. Gentner served as Senior Vice President of strategic brands of J. C. Penney Company, Inc., since March 2012. Mr. Gentner was responsible for reinvigorating jcpenney's portfolio of high-performing private brands such as The Original Arizona Jean Company and Xersion. This includes ensuring brand integrity for jcpenney's private brands in how they are merchandised and marketed and also in how they are presented in the Company's private brand in-store shops. He served as J. C. Penney's Senior Vice President , planning and promotion. His roles at jcpenney have also included divisional Vice President , men's marketing as well as brand director for St. John's Bay. Before joining jcpenney, he served as divisional merchandise manager of men's sportswear at Macy's.
