This new CEO has totally changed the company and culture- for the worst. It is clearly now about what he thinks expenses should be rather than people, quality, customer service and the promise that our company was built on (doing the right thing and being a good neighbor). He has an ego bigger than our corporate headquarters and has conditioned every employee to now do whatever it takes to survive rather than give back to each other and our policyholders. He has installed a system that is to lead by constant fear and threats, micro management, unethical leadership (including himself) and shaming employees. He has decreased the workforce by 2/3 and tripled the workload on those left. Results- all time lowest company morale, people only work for a paycheck, smart, hard working, tenured people forced out and replaced with very incompetent, illiterate, unmotivated and uncaring people. Employee opinion surveys are rated so low and everyone hates working for this company now.

He has changed culture dramatically. State Farm's foundation was based on pricing rural and suburban risks fairly. Our company grew organically in those areas and has always struggled turning profits in urban areas. He is moving workforce to urban areas and does not value associates unless they are in those areas. Results - seats can not be filled, new policies created turning the environment into a factory setting, the company has not hit targets in more than 2 years. By his own standards his tactics are failing. He promotes agile in the work force but that agility does not apply to him.

30yr employee & unable to get 7 plus days off in a row off and last minute time off...which I worked to hard to get. Metrics are pitting employeese against each other. Micro managing is out of control, late due to traffic get points, call out suck get points, need to leave early get points. SF is loosing so many great employees. Most are shocked MT is still with the the company. I’m very sad and disappointed in the direction SF is headed.

Ive worked for a State Farm Agent since 2004 and ever since Tipsford took over the company is going down the toilet. The systems never work, they implement without troubleshooting, we wait for hours on hold for billing questions (which SF is constantly over billing, crediting when they shouldn’t).. I even called once and the person I talked to didn’t know half and 50% were the same thing!

In a time where we have the #metoo awareness awakening in our society, this is a time for new leadership that can return to the heart of its motto "like a good neighbor", all the while with a re igniting vibrant vision for the future that includes respect to its associates and customers alike.

The decline in quality since Michael Tipsord took the helm of the company has been unmistakable and dismaying. Fervently hope he is replaced before he has the chance to completely demolish the legacy of the company.

He is a CFO masquerading as a CEO. Not up to the role. Can not deliver results through people. Morale is at an all time low while turnover is at an all time high.

As a former State Farm employee who believes in the underlying values and philosophy of the company, I'm disheartened to hear about this CEO. He is a poor example and needs to be removed.

I agree with all of the negative comments. His term as CEO will hit State Farm is the worst! Bad decisions and lack of leadership skills! Too bad he is ruining a good company.

I was not eligible for a merit this year because I promoted and my base salary was higher. People work really hard to promote. Tiptoed is a clown and hopefully is done soon.

Michael Tipsord has no concern for employees. His leadership has resulted in poor business results including poor customer service results and poor operating results. He does not tolerate honest feedback.

He needs to go! He has turned our claims departments into a numbers game and forgot about the customer and employees.

Don’t even recognize his company anymore. Everyone is overworked, under staffed and ready to jump ship. Losing tenured employees to competitors daily.

CEO does not interact much. We know less about him. There is less transparency and accountability in the companies recruitment process.

The CEO is relatively new. He seems to be aggressive in trying to make the company profitable again.
