Mr. Angus Rodger is a Partner in the London office of Steptoe & Johnson, where he is a member of a insurance practice. He joined the firm on January 9, 2004. Mr. Rodger focuses his representation on both contentious and transactional insurance and reinsurance matters. He moved to Steptoe & Johnson from Clifford Chance, where he established and led the firm's insurance/finance convergence group in London. As a Solicitor-Advocate, he has acted for a range of clients in domestic and international insurance and reinsurance litigation, arbitration, and mediation. Mr. Rodger has drafted, negotiated, and advised on a wide range of insurance and reinsurance products, such as D&O, professional indemnity, credit, political risk, product liability, fidelity, fine art, finite reinsurance, and litigation buyout. His practice also includes advising corporations and banks on insurance issues arising as part of larger corporate and financial transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, project finance and securitisations. He advises on the regulatory aspects of insurance, such as the establishment of insurance businesses and transfers of insurance portfolios. In addition, he has extensive experience in the insurance of financial institutions, and in innovative insurance and ART products. Mr. Rodger has over twelve years experience in insurance law, and joined Steptoe & Johnson from a magic circle firm in London, where he established and led the insurance and finance convergence group. Some of his representative publications and presentations include: Co-Author of EC Insurance Law, Author of Informa's reinsurance distance-learning course, and a Co-Founder of Commercial Conflicts of Law journal. He is a frequent contributor to insurance industry and legal publications, and a high-profile speaker at U.K. and International Conferences. He received his B.A. from University of Keele, with honors.
