meeting in person and presenting my skills, education and job experience to the interview panel.
I interviewed at a time when in person interviews were still the norm. This had not only a discussion component, but a chance to demonstrate my skills through a case study.
Simple and straightforward, no online tests or anything. Just face to face interviews.

Having less hr input and business input
There was nothing really special about the interview process.
It takes absolutely forever to secure talent. Bureaucratic and many levels for approval from multiple groups to get someone approved for hire. Not unusual for 3-6 month process
Fewer behavioural question and more knowledge base questions. To much inclusion and diversity placed on hiring, not hiring best qualified

Lest red tape and more focus on completing the process in a timely manner
Give the questions ahead of time.

Have the questions asked one on one.
Not ask illegal questions during the interview
Get someone to ask realistic questions like why as shareholders do we put up with these overpriced board members who contribute squat. You think that paying them that much makes them better managers?
