Mr. William J. Stuart, also known as Bill, has been the Chief Financial Officer of Synacor, Inc. since August 2011 and served as its Principal Accounting Officer and Corporate Secretary. Mr. Stuart joined Synacor, Inc., on September 15, 2011. He served as the President of Soapstone Networks Inc. (formerly, Avici Systems Inc.) from July 31, 2009 to October 26, 2011. Mr. Stuart has over 22 years experience in the technology industry and as Chief Financial Officer for companies in the telecommunications equipment segment. He served as the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Finance of Soapstone Networks Inc. since August 29, 2006 until October 2009 and as its Treasurer since August 2006 until October 2009. Mr. Stuart served as Secretary of Soapstone Networks Inc., from August 2006 to July 2008 and as its Senior Vice President of Administration since August 29, 2008. He was the General Partner at Still River Funds since joining it in September 2001. Mr. Stuart was the General Partner of Still River Fund II, L.P., Still River Fund III, L.P., and Dean's Hill Limited Partnership, L.P. Mr. Stuart served as the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President at Telco Systems Inc. from January 1997 to January 1999 and also served as its Principal Accounting Officer. He served as the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President at AccessLine Technologies, Inc. from May 1992 to January 1997 and also served as its Vice President since 1992. Mr. Stuart served as a Vice President of International at&T Paradyne since 1989 and Treasurer of Paradyne Corporation prior to 1989. He served as a Vice President of the Broadband Infrastructure & Access Group of ADC Telecommunications Inc. since October 2000. He served as the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Broadband Access Systems, Inc. (now Bigband Networks BAS, Inc.), where he led the negotiations in the acquisition of Paradyne Corporation by ADC from October 1999 to September 2000. He served as the Chief Financial Officer of NetCore Systems Inc. from May 1999 to September 2000 and Vice President from May 1999 to October 1999. He served as the Chief Financial Officer of Bigband Networks BAS Inc. He served as Vice President of Business Development for ADC Telecommunications. He held management positions in Prime Computer, Inc., where he started his career in the technology industry. He has been a Director of Cognitronics Corp. since 2001. He has been a Director of Xelor Software, Inc., since September 14, 2005. Mr. Stuart served as a Director of ComBrio Inc. He served as a Director of Soapstone Networks Inc. from July 31, 2009 to October 26, 2011. He served as a Director of ThinkEngine Networks, Inc., from 2001 to April 11, 2008. Mr. Stuart holds a B.A. degree from Boston College and an M.B.A. degree from Northeastern University. He also attended the Executive Education Program at IMD in Switzerland.
