TaxJar Interviews Employee Reviews

What did you like most about the interview process?

Felt like a conversation and not a script.

Mutual Trial Assessment - look before you leap (both ways)

Review from Operations Dept

They told me the salary range upfront. NO GAMES, thank you!

Review from Product Dept

all remote via video conferencing

#1 Trial period. #2 No nonsense code challenge.

Review from Engineering Dept

The mutual assessment is great! What a wonderful way to find out if the company is a fit for my needs, and vice versa!

Review from Sales Dept

The fact that I was able to meet with the CEO, Mark, in my final interview and he made me feel comfortable and confident as if I wasn't speaking with the CEO.

Review from HR Dept

TImely scheduling, felt like conversations rather than interviews

Review from HR Dept

TaxJar requires all new hires to trial before they are offered a job. It gives you a chance to see into the company and culture and see if it's a fit for you too. The project given during trial isn't easier but is a real exercise in seeing how you think and go about solving problems.

Review from Marketing Dept

The trial. Everyone has to do a trial period before we hire you permanently. It really helps find the best of the best.

I liked being able to meet face to face over zoom

Review from Customer Support Dept

Transparency. They were CLEAR every step of the way on how the interview process worked.

Review from HR Dept

Very conversational- no tricks. The recruiter actually felt I'd be a stronger fit for another position (she was right) and I'm now in that role.

Review from Sales Dept

trial gives folks time to see how you really perform.

The mutual assessment period is the best part of the interview process. Potential employees work - paid- on a contracting basis for at least two weeks. This lets both parties get a feel for how they'll work together. You learn much more when you actually work together than you do answering questions

Review from Engineering Dept

I enjoyed that it was comfortable, once we got past introductions my nerves were settled and I felt like I was just chatting with some cool new people I met. It wasn't this heavy and judgy feeling.

Review from Engineering Dept

The open and honest discussions.
