Mr. Matthew D. Hood, also known as Matt, serves as the Chief Marketing Officer of The Habit Restaurants, Inc. Prior to joining The Habit, Mr. Hood served as the Chief Marketing Officer of BJ's Restaurants Inc., from July 1, 2008 to 2014. He was part-time Consultant to BJ's Restaurants Inc. since 2007. Prior to joining BJ's Restaurants, he was a Marketing and Strategy Consultant to the restaurant industry and also served as the National Restaurant Brand Consultant for Google, Inc. From 2002 to 2006, he was employed by Fired Up, Inc., Owner and Operator of the Carino's Italian Grill casual dining concept, with his last position as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Brand Development. Prior to that, Mr. Hood served as a Marketing Manager of Brinker International, Owner and Operator of the Chili's Grill and Bar and other casual dining concepts. He served as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Brand Development at Fired Up, Inc., since April 2005. His role is being expanded to cover all marketing, food and beverage and research and development. His stewardship of the brand and strategic insights have been instrumental in positioning Johnny Carina's to become America's favorite Italian restaurant. He holds a B.S. in Journalism and Advertising from Texas Christian University. Mr. Hood holds MBA in marketing and entrepreneurship from the Kellogg Graduate School at Northwestern University.
