Nerdery is a tech partner for Amplify
Uplifting our community and committing to its betterment is a significant part of our “Do What’s Right” core value. In that same spirit, we are excited to partner with Amplify, a Twin Cities-based organization that supports the growth of entrepreneurs from underrepresented communities. Their mission is one we profoundly believe in – and bridges directly to our mission of relentlessly inventing a world that works better for all.
Through Amplify’s “Featured Founder” series, the organization gives space for business owners who lack a clear pathway to funding and driving revenue for their businesses to get the answers and support they need. Nerdery is supporting their technology efforts and covering the subscription costs for all of Amplify’s software to help make their work possible.
Support for Children’s Miracle Network Hospital though an Extra Life team run by Nerds
Extra Life is a fundraising program of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals®. The Extra Life community fundraises year-round to Change Kids’ Health to Change the Future. Donations go to member children’s hospitals to fund critical life-saving treatments and healthcare services, along with innovative research, vital pediatric medical equipment, and child life services.
Since 2012, Nerdery’s Extra Life Nerds team has raised more than $360,000 for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Team members raise money by playing the game(s) of their choice for 24-hours — while gathering pledges and donations. This fun and inspirational event is led by Nerds and hosted at Nerdery offices.
Supporting local small businesses through the pandemic with the “Nerdery Gives Back” program
As our communities faced continued uncertainty during the coronavirus pandemic, never had the phrase "a rising tide lifts all boats” felt more true. Small businesses (e.g. restaurants, bakeries, hardware stores, coffee shops, etc) in particular needed support to not just keep business moving, but thriving.
Nerdery stepped up to provide free guidance and support to help small businesses leverage digital to maintain and grow their business within our communities of Arizona, Illinois and Minnesota. During that time, Nerdery was able to provide over $200,000 worth of support to small businesses and help them find some light in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic.
