Executive Bio

William E. Hobbs serves as President of Power of Williams Companies Inc. Mr. Hobbs served as Senior Vice President of Power, Energy Marketing & Trading of Williams Companies Inc.'s since October 2002. He served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Williams Energy Marketing & Trading From February 2000 to October 2002. He served as a Vice President of various Williams subsidiaries From 1997 to February 2000. He worked as senior vice president of Williams Energy Services and senior vice president of Williams Energy Marketing & Trading. Mr. Hobbs joined Williams in 1989 as senior marketing representative to expand its gas marketing efforts nationally. From 1997 to 1998, he served Williams as a vice president over several areas including power and gas; natural gas liquids; and crude and refined products. He served as director over several areas from 1993 to 97 including natural gas liquids and natural gas services; as well as marketing, supply and transportation. He acted as manager, mid-continent region from 1992 to 93. Prior to joining Williams, he worked for Union Pacific Resources in financial analyst and marketing positions from 1985 to 1989. He helped pioneer Williams' diversity programs, including developing partnerships with area universities to attract career candidates with diverse backgrounds. He was inducted into the Oklahoma State University College of Business Hall of Fame in November 2001 and serves on the Oklahoma State University Foundation Board. He also serves on the Tulsa Cystic Fibrosis Board. A seasoned speaker, Mr. Hobbs has been giving presentations at national organizations for 15 years on topics pertaining to all forms of energy and related infrastructure, as well as risk management and regulatory issues. He has been the keynote speaker at venues such as the Ziff Energy Conference, the Energy Summit, and the American Boiler Manufacturer's Association. In addition, he testified before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in November 2000 regarding the impact of price controls. Mr. Hobbs earned his bachelor's in finance and business from Oklahoma State University in 1985. He attended the Karras Negotiating School programs in 1987 and 1988.
