Executive Bio

Mr. Daniel P. Shine, also known as Dan, has been Senior Vice President and President of Analytical Instruments at Thermo Fisher Scientific, Inc., since January 1, 2016. Mr. Shine served as the President of Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry at Thermo Fisher Scientific, Inc., from 2012 to January 1, 2016. He joined Thermo Fisher Scientific in 1998 as a Controller and over the next four years held a number of leadership positions within finance and operations. In June 2002, he was appointed to lead Thermo Fisher Scientific's Elemental Analysis product line and a year later became Vice President and General Manager of that business. In 2007, he was promoted to President of Process Instruments and in 2011 became President of the Chemical Analysis business. Prior to joining Thermo Fisher, he worked for international accounting firm Arthur Andersen for eight years. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Wesleyan University and a master's degree in professional accounting from the University of Hartford.
