Ka Lai Cheng — President of APAC Region at Tripadvisor

Ms. Ka Lai Cheng, also known as Lily, has been the President of APAC region at TripAdvisor Inc. since July 22, 2014. Ms. Cheng served as the President of APAC at TripAdvisor LLC since July 2014 until June 2016. Ms. Cheng is responsible for driving TripAdvisor's growth in the Asia Pacific Region, with a focus on China, Japan and India. She continues to position and develop TripAdvisor's portfolio companies in mainland China (DaoDao and Kuxun) for long-term success via both organic growth and strategic partnerships. Prior to joining TripAdvisor, she served at Expedia Inc., from 2008 to 2010 in various capacities including managing global product development and marketing for Expedia's private label and affiliate business (EAN) as well as supporting Expedia's Asia Pacific expansion strategy including the early negotiations of the Expedia / AirAsia joint venture. She served as Senior Director of Global Strategy & Marketing of Expedia Affiliate Network. She co-founded Splashpower Limited in 2001. She served as a Director of Corporate Strategy and Development (Asia Pacific) for Expedia. She served as a Consultant for the Boston Consulting Group consumer goods practice in Greater China from 2006 to 2008. She was founder of an embedded technology start-up Benchmark Capital and served as its Chief Executive Officer. Ms. Cheng has had engineering experience in projects with Rolls Royce and Hutchison as well as marcoms and graphics design experience with China.com. She has a unique combination of entrepreneurial vision and drive, a technical background as well as an understanding of aesthetic & ergonomic design to Splashpower. She has been Independent Non-Executive Director at Swire Properties Limited since March 17, 2017. She serves as Advisory Board of Kuoni Reisen Holding AG. She is a Member of the Global Travel Distribution. She served as Non-Executive Director of Splashpower Limited. She served as a Non-Executive Director of eLong Inc., from April 20, 2010 to June 10, 2011. She served as Board member of Benchmark Capital. Ms. Cheng who has spent most of her life in Hong Kong and Canada, received a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Engineering with distinction from Cambridge University in 2001.
