Tutor.com Compensation Employee Reviews

What is the best part about your compensation package?

It's not a specific schedule. It's flexible.

There are no benefits as a part time employee, but I think the rate is competitive since we work at home and really have no costs like commuting and meals.

Review from Customer Support Dept

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

I've noticed something about jobs... The lower paying a job is, the more that's expected. Working as a tutor for Tutor.com is a contracted position. Tutors are not direct employees. $10 per hour turns into maybe $7 after taxes. That is extremely low pay. Extremely low for educated people.

fair pay would go a long way

They are ableist and break labor laws

Pay is very low for having a degree.

It's hard to qualify for benefits

Benefits and regular raises for strong performance

Review from Customer Support Dept

I feel undervalued because my mentors stopped contacting me about two months ago after I reached out to them about a possible promotion. It bothers me that students are charged four times the amount tutors get paid. I'd feel better knowing students were charged less and my mentors were consistent.
