My responsibilities have grown significantly over time; however, my compensation has not kept pace. I have taken on additional projects, contributed to key outcomes, and often supported others beyond my core role. I still love my job.

I found out that I do not make the starting salary for my position by asking a director from a different team what they start my position at for their team. There should be more transparency of salaries across the department, especially for positions with the same titles/descriptions.

A salary that aligns with market rates for similar roles.

It is difficult to get pay increases once you are hired, beyond a 2% merit increase that comes each year. That makes it hard to meet the increased cost of living. It is no secret that employees aren't expected to ever reach the maximum salary for the position, and raises are infrequent.

It feels good to know that all our efforts are making tangible influences on helping improve lives. Whether it be a student choosing to pursue a medical career or a patient learning there is a service they need that they can come get, every day each of us make an impact bigger than ourselves.
