UT Health San Antonio Office of Strategic Planning Department Employee Reviews

What do you like best about the leadership team?

Leadership Reviews

The team is hard working and helpful.

They are very supportive of our needs.

I appreciate their openness to trying new things.

You asked me "How would you rate your CEO?" Who is this? Chief Education Officer? Chief Executive Officer? Do you actually mean President Henrich? Or, perhaps you meant Andrea Marks? But she's the Chief Operating Officer. Our leadership team cares about people. People are the focus. Not just $$$.

They seem authentic and care about people

What is the best part about your compensation package?

Compensation Reviews

Free medical health insurance (if over 80% FTE), holidays, weekends, and lots of time off (more with years of service). Designated sick time that I can take when needed.

Health care coverage is provided.

The paid time off is very generous.

Being automatically enrolled in TRS

I am paid fairly now that I've moved positions. Before, I do not believe I was paid fairly and, in fact, when I started in 2016 (diff dept), I was one of the lowest paid employees with my title in the state of Texas. Health insurance is good. Work-life/balance. PTO improved. Access to 457 and 403.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Compensation Reviews

Being paid more for work being done.

not paid enough for what is expected

Clear communication on market bands and where my role falls in the band. I wouldn't expect to be the highest but transparency and competitive compensation (salary + bonus) would be nice.

What are some of the best things about your team?

Team Reviews

We all want to do our best. Everyone is nice and is willing to help. Rarely are there issues or complaints, and if so, management listens and cares. They really want you to succeed. However, every department is different. Mine just happens to be fantastic. :)

We collaborate and work together very well. Everyone is extremely helpful.

Our team is fantastic. We all get along very well and support one another no matter what is needed. The best team environment I've had in my career.

They are nice and genuinely want to help. I rarely have someone at UT Health who does not want to be helpful.

Very friendly and make a special effort to help one in need.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

Environment Reviews

Providing a great work environment and feeling welcomed with open arms.

Social hours and time we get to interact with one another online or in person.

The atmosphere is great at work

I think we strive to help people more than we strive to be a money making machine. Money is the fuel that we need to improve our services, not the paycheck for some CEO. We care about patients and about students and about employees. We care about the community. It's truly about people.

You know you are making a difference. UT Health is doing tons of research (and their research is growing!). The healthcare side of UT Health is also rapidly growing. UT Health isn't about making $$ for some board of investors or CEO. $$ made are reinvested into UT Health so we can do more to help.

What makes you most happy at work?

Outlook Reviews

Providing the completed work and knowing I did it successfully.

The people that I work with.

That my work ultimately is aimed at making the lives of those in the community better. It is very rewarding knowing my work will have an impact.

I love coming to work and using my skills to help the team, solve a puzzle, or create something valuable. I love getting to make authentic relationships with my colleagues.

I like what I do. I work with data and I enjoy it. I like exploring and analyzing it. I enjoy the puzzles I solve daily to do what I need to. Currently, my job is 100% work from home, which is amazing. I enjoy conversing with my coworkers and collaborating with them on projects.
