What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Identifying and acting on members of CS leadership who lack the ability to manage their staff effectively and collaboratively to get things done. Instead, these parties focus on personal interest, ego and self-promotion at the expense of teamwork and support. Toxic MO. Causing best pros to leave VA.

Pay increases are few and far between

Company economic performance outperforms individual incentives.
Compensation is improving however it is mismatched with our goals. We lose too many good performers. Our culture is great, but culture is just one piece. Many just cant ignore the salaries available elsewhere. In a technologically connected world location is increasingly irrelevant.

Pay more. Leaders at Verisk do not know how to pay software and technical talent what they are worth. The low talent that they attract and retain makes this obvious.
What are some of the best things about your team?
The team members are intelligent and for the most part work hard.

Everyone is willing to work. There are no slackers. We all recognized each other's hard work and respect each other.
What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
People try to get along and not hurt feelings more than they try to solve problems or learn how to do their jobs better.
Focus on getting things done quickly and efficiently and less on following protocol and process.

Everyone treats each other with respect. Family atmosphere.
My teams enjoy coming in and working together. Some HR initiatives however feel forced and don't move the needle. Culture is still somewhat local. Scott has done quite a bit for the employees over the last couple years.

The pace is so fast it's difficult to keep up, even for the most seasoned professional.

Get rid of senior CS leaders who are self-promoters and destructively divisive. A true cancer in the enterprise that is enabled by other senor leaders who choose to look the other way.
