Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility at Workhuman

At Workhuman, we believe it is our responsibility to fully understand the global impacts of our activities and actions on society and the environment. We uphold the highest of values when it comes the ethical and sustainable behaviors of ourselves, our employees, and our suppliers. Since our inception in 1999, we have continually guided our policies, procedures, and decisions by the appreciation for the health and well-being of our larger society. As a company built around redefining humans’ relationships with work, we’re committed to advancing and modeling sustainable practices in the workplace by working toward achieving carbon neutrality while promoting a less impactful, more ethical relationship between our business practices and our environment.

As part of our efforts, we became a new Charter Member of the Sustainable Business & Enterprise Roundtable, a consortium led by a sustainability consulting firm that works with dozens of large multi-national companies on their sustainability practices and programs. We have also created a social responsibility arm of Workhuman to increase our level of focus, resources, and transparency as an organization – to ensure our corporate social responsibility and environmental sustainability advancements grow alongside our company. This growth will include many items of corporate governance, including citizen/sustainability reports and other elements to ensure the company remains on track to become a fully sustainable business from the environmental perspective. We’ve also launched a new ERG that focuses on sustainability to accelerate the ideas and actions we can take across our entire company. This group will help accelerate new environmental/sustainability initiatives and programs across the company, including employee benefit ideas, clean-up projects, community engagement, and ongoing education to all employees about their individual responsibility to play their part in reducing our overall environmental impact as a company.

Community Impact and Philanthropy

We believe in the power of advocacy and technology in removing barriers for children, families, and our future leaders. Through local organizations in Massachusetts and Dublin, Ireland, we are helping create a more equitable world where everyone has an opportunity to succeed. Through financial contributions, volunteering, equipment donations (laptops, iPads) and employee drives (in partnership with our Workhuman Gives employee-driven group), we support several organizations, including Science Club for Girls, Girls Inc., Tech Goes Home, St. Ultans, Techies for Temple Street, Catie’s Closet, Innercity Weightlifting, Saoirse Women's Refuge, DCF/Framingham, and Worcester Community Action Council, and Children’s Health Foundation Crumlin.
