Mr. Chris K. Visser, J.D., has been an Executive Vice President of Zumiez Inc. since May 2014 and has been its General Counsel and Corporate Secretary since October 2012. Mr. Visser practice areas include corporate, mergers and acquisitions and securities. He represents clients in a variety of corporate, securities and business-related transactions. He has experience with venture capital financings and various transactional matters, as well as corporate counseling, including emerging company and public company representations. He was a Partner at K&L Gates LLP. Mr. Visser served as a Process Engineer with a chemical company in Houston, Texas. He previously practiced corporate and securities law in Houston with Weil, Gotshal & Manges and was a Partner at Preston Gates & Ellis LLP since November 2006. Mr. Visser is admitted to practice in the Bar of Washington. He was a co-author of Sarbanes-Oxley: Designing an Effective Corporate Ethics Program, Counsel to Counsel in September 2003 and a co-author of Strong Oversight Becomes Critical for All Companies, Puget Sound Business Journal on April 26, 2002. He earned Dean's Award for Academic Excellence from University of Houston He received a J.D., magna cum laude, from University of Houston Law Center in 1999, where he was a Notes and Comments Editor of Houston Law Review; an M.B.A., with concentration in Finance, from University of Houston in 1996; and B.S. in Chemical Engineering from University of Washington in 1992.
