BIO: Mr. Michael L. Elich, also known as Mike, has been the Chief Executive Officer and President of Barrett Business Services, Inc. since February 17, 2011. Mr. Elich served as an Interim Chief Executive Officer and Interim President of Barrett Business Services Inc. since January 20, 2011 and as its Chief Operating Officer since May 16, 2005. He served as Vice President of Barrett Business Services Inc., since May 16, 2005. Mr. Elich has served as BBSI's Director of Business Development since joining it in October 2001. Prior to BBSI, Mr. Elich served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Skills Resource Training Center, a company acquired by BBSI in January 2004. Mr. Elich has been a Director of Barrett Business Services Inc. since February 17, 2011. He holds a B.S. degree in Economics and Business from Montana State University.

Mike has more than two decades of experience building successful service and technology businesses. Twenty-five years ago, he gained a rock-solid foundation in statistics and research as manager of research services for the Walt Disney Company. To this day, Disney remains his leading benchmark for best practices in customer experience. After Disney, Mike spent almost 12 years at Deloitte Consulting. Mike was an early proponent of customer-facing technologies and co-founded the firm’s CRM practice. He implemented sales automation systems, campaign management technologies, customer service solutions, and price optimization software for dozens of Fortune 1000 companies. His clients covered a range of industries including automotive, consumer products, financial services, and retail. Mike took his customer experience focus to AlixPartners, a leading corporate turnaround, and growth firm. There, he spent almost ten years building the growth services practice to help under-performing and high-potential clients rapidly improve top-line performance. Before joining MaritzCX, Mike served as CEO of Avatar Solutions. Avatar was an early entrant and innovator in the patient experience (PX) space. The company specialized in crafting individually customized survey instruments to assess complex patient experiences. While at Avatar, Mike oversaw the development of an innovative SaaS platform for client reporting and benchmarking. The platform exceeded the rigorous needs of a highly regulated industry that paid out billions of incentive dollars annually based on client performance. Avatar was subsequently purchased by a leading industry competitor. Mike considers himself privileged to be part of the amazing MaritzCX team that delivers services and software to leading global companies. MaritzCX enables clients to grow their revenue, market share, and margin by pulling the most powerful lever available – improving the customer experience.
