BIO: Mr. Richard D. Phillips, also known as Ric, has been President and Chief Executive Officer of Essendant Inc. since October 25, 2017. Mr. Phillips served as Interim President and Chief Executive Officer of Essendant Inc. from June 13, 2017 to October 25, 2017. Mr. Phillips served as the Group President of Industrial Essentials (Formerly, ORS Industrial) at Essendant Inc. since August 2016. He served as the President of ORS Nasco, Inc. since January 18, 2016. He served as the President of On-Line & New Channels at Essendant Inc. (also known as United Stationers Inc,) from January 2013 to November 12, 2015. He spent 14 years at McKinsey & Company, where he was elected Partner in 2005. He spent six years at Baxter Healthcare in finance and sales, where he held roles of increasing responsibility in corporate finance and sales, including serving as a National Accounts Manager. He joined Essendant in early 2013. Prior to joining Essendant, he spent several years with McKinsey & Company in Chicago, where he worked with clients across the world in the healthcare and consumer industry sectors, with a functional emphasis in strategy, commercial performance and operations. He also served as co-leader of the firm??? s Global Healthcare Operations practice. Mr. Phillips earned a B.S. degree in Finance from Indiana University and a Masters of Management degree, with distinction, from the Kellogg Business School at Northwestern University.
