Transparency is good from Senior Leadership. The problems are with mid leve management. Permanent Serco employees leading some task that they have Zero knowledge or any qualifications to provide any real support on project. Serco under pays all employees who are not permanent employeees.
They get the job done. We work together learning from each other. Communications flow is very positive on our team. Only gripe across the board are with mid level management not having required qualifications and working in lead positions on contracts with customers. Serco needs more SMEs
Re-think putting unqualified permanent employees in roles that interface with our customer. Put SMEs in the position in lead roles that are qualified to talk about the project or program assigned. For example, dont place a financial clerk as lead on contract to speak with customer. We look silly!
Honestly, if they would treat every employee the same. It would help Serco's image with the Government. A lot of the mid level permanent employees tell the Government non sense and shoot from the hip often. It's hurting the companies image and continues to hurt our competitive edge with competitors.
We are profesionally diversified and continually learn from each other. We have 8 SMEs that are absolute experts in each area of their job field. The work flow runs very smooth and our customer praises our work often. Serco permanent employee running lead on contract does cause issues with our image
I felt it was very fair! However i had already been told the work is great from other colleagues. However, its known that Serco doesnt pay top dollar and even close to what competitors pay. Hence they underbid cintracts and pray that can keep employees in positions because they are happy in the job.
