I appreciate that my Supervisor checks in on me daily to see how I am, see if I need anything to do my job for the day and conducts monthly one on one meetings with me.
Everyone seems to have their own way of doing things, which makes it hard to figure out an accurate way of doing things. I would hope there is an actual training process for how the assessments are done from GEO instead of a crash course on doing things and then being expected to remember it all.
Leadership team works as a cohesive unit. They are very approachable to staff. Always seem willing to receive suggestions from staff for operational improvements.
they are encouraging and and keep it professional .
Their presence in time of a crisis.
Need to stop pushing the fault at others and stop falsifying ICE paperwork
They need to learn how to give instructions on how to do the job.
Listening to employees needs. Not holding is over all the time. Following policies for posts. Having offocers back when we try to uphold policies. Working as a team
Pay was jacket up for the first 8 weeks. Poorly trained supervisors who are poorly trained in leadership, threaten us with firing for minor offenses, and do not know the company policies and procedures. IT won't return my calls.
They should recognize people, Officers, etc., for what they are experienced in or certified in. There are Officers that are asking for specific certifications, and they don't care
i do not have one
Insurance appears to be fairly priced and adequate for my family's needs.
am happy with the package
Affordable, very good benefits package
N/A, I'm using none at this time
If GEO wants to attract and retain high quality employee's who will make their position a career and not a temporary stopping point, the pay should commensurate with the cost of living.
Some type of bonus pay or hazard pay on a quarterly basis.
I feel that I should at least get hazard pay for being inside a controlled enviorment.
I feel undervalued due to a toxic work environment, lack of communication within department, hostile behavior with intentional incorrect name references, unpleasant attitudes towards employees and unappreciative of work efforts. I expect a higher compensation for my skill set/ progress with inmate
Better benefits leas hours and following policies
we knew how bad management was and we were all in this together
Good communication, willingness to help each other, respectful, thoughtful and good humor.
We all know that the training process for the assessments is lacking in a way to teach new employees. And we all are handed files to take over that are out of compliance by weeks.
We all try to stick together and learn how to do this job on one accord.
Each one of my team members have extensive experience in corrections and leadership.
Avoid petty, offensive behavior-more respectful communication to develop and maintain trust. Engaging, attentive and inclusive supervisory/management interaction with all staff not just selective few. Avoid divisive comments and bias behaviors. I would not recommend any referrals to this department
Work as a team no one likes to clean at night
The Mexican/American employees in El Paso are clannish and exclusive of others.
Many of them have negative attitudes or they don't interact at all.
Learn how to communicate and work as a team
there was no positive, they treated me bad because of my military
Good, quality training, supportive Supervisors and good follow up.
the culture is very different
The most positive part of the company is that we all try to get our job done in the timely manner.
The staff and leadership are very positive and approachable. Everyone seems to work well as a team.
The benefits cheaper so more people can afford the healthcare itself, also more opportunities to advance yourself and build your career here
Learn how to speak to employees
Being open-minded and being willing to train and understand that everyone learns differently.
Certain leaders need to respect us employees on how they speak to us and as well to the detainees some leaders talk to them ugly disrespectful they belittle them some are inmates but there’s more detainees they need to also get respected every dorm I
Leadership should receive more training in team building and integrity in the work place.
it was more of a relaxed interview not so formal, yet all the information that needed to be discussed was
The stages of my interview process were quick yet through to meet all key stakeholders making the decision to hire.
I was quick and HR was responsive and informative of what was taking place in the background.

Not working in an environment that supports negativity. I appreciate being checked on, supported and allows for someone to speak their thoughts and be appreciated.
Nothing makes me happy at this job
Completing the mission and working hard to lead my staff. Conduct succession planning with my direct reports and prepare them take the next steps.
when anyone smiles at me
my career as an officer
An actual training course for what is needed for us to accomplish our work.
Supervision which reflects the offensive, divisive, bias behavior of staff.
Stop holding us over for 16-20 hours
Organization, communication and learning how to speak to employees.
My turnover training was not adequate and when I ask the person questions I get a negative response or I'm just ignored. No one seems to know how to help me with my responsibilities or whom to ask.
