    It is a tremendously low performing culture. Over time Hulu has aquired folks resistant to change and only willing to do the bare minimum. It is a "no fire" culture even if employees curse at customers. The c suite micro manages. The junior folks are coddled. Too many teams run on consensus and the result is a meeting culture. Far too much talking not enough doing.

  • Lately? It's like House of Cards.

  • Current employee at Hulu: * Lot of smart people * Company culture was used to building everything from scratch in-house rather than utilizing open source or existing tools etc but that has changed in the recent years. * autonomy given to the engineers * It's being more product driven than tech driven. * Adoption of new technologies is very good * Good amount of ramp up time for new employees * Management is not very transparent about the future of the company (ofcourse due to disney being the owner of Hulu)

    Good health insurance and a bunch of random perks. Very well stocked kitchens throughout the company with lots of healthy snacks and fruits

  • * 401K * LTIP (long term investment plan) - similar to rsu * usual health benefits * Be-well stipend * Learning stipend * Beer and wine taps at office

  • Free food, green transit, parking, unlimited PTO, paternity and maternity leave, but bad tuition reimbursement program. No mentorship program. Bad internal development programs.

  • Some, but certainly not enough. HR deflects questions regarding diversity, and thinks having a couple of women in mid-level leadership positions constitutes diversity. Tragic.

  • Poor. Practically no women and POC on the executive team barring the CFO.

    The leadership team needs to stop micro managing. They need to fire low performers and develop the folks looking to grow. They need to stop letting tech supply constraints limit their ability to ship whole products. Currently the shipped product is no where near the design. The dev resources seem mismanaged, and since that is the manufacturing piece of their supply chain it needs to be addressed asap.

  • Leadership is transparent about progress and goals. It could refine mission statement and approve work to lead us to those goals.

  • Yes definitely. Hulu is good at allowing people to switch teams. Have to discuss with manager and set expectations.
