They range from serious lifelines like mental health benefits to and educational assistance to that old, reliable pioneering perk of office life – the well-stocked fridge.

Briefly describe the most-loved benefit Workfront offers its employees today.

Company-wide recharge days. Once a month, on top of our unlimited paid time off and paid holidays, we give employees another day off to unplug their devices, recharge, and rest.

Why is this a perk you chose to give to your employees?

While we continue to be so appreciative of our employees’ work, we recognize that the hours/days spent communicating on Zoom, Slack, email, and daily life demands can cause people to feel overly busy and taxed. To ensure our employees continue to get the physical and mental relief they need, we have decided to hold company-wide recharge days allowing us to unplug our devices, recharge, and rest.

What have you done to evolve your perks & benefits program in the current shifting business climate?

Office Stipend: To better enable our employees to do their best work, we gave employees a one-time office stipend. This is intended to cover the costs associated with setting up the proper infrastructure and equipment at home to work productively and comfortably.

Mental Health Webinars: In partnership with our EAP, we host webinars revolving around Mental health during the global pandemic.

Briefly describe the most-loved/unique benefit Cornerstone offers its employees today?

At our core, Cornerstone is a learning company – both in how we serve our customers through our people development solutions and how we enable our own people to become life-long learners. In addition to an abundance of online learning content and personalized career paths, Cornerstone offers its people a myriad of learning opportunities – from our regular peer-to-peer Development Days and now daily Development Hours to change management workshops, gig work programs, and mentorship programs – that foster collaboration across the organization and promote skill development.

Why is this a perk you chose to give to your employees?

While there are several individuals within the company whose core responsibilities are learning and development, we know how important it is to provide as many opportunities for our employees to be able to take learning into their own hands. The many programs we offer our people enable this autonomy and encourage cross-functional collaboration. We know that a culture of learning creates an engaged workforce, closes skills gaps, and paves the way for individuals to accomplish their career goals.

What have you done to evolve your perks & benefits program in the current shifting business climate?

Leveraging Cornerstone’s own online learning technology contributed to a smoother transition to the 100% remote model we are in right now as individuals can continue taking online courses from home. We have had to shift our in-person trainings and workshops to a virtual format, which actually allows our entire global workforce to participate, and we have made even greater use of our online communities and employee resource groups to engage employees in daily learning activities. Another way Cornerstone has evolved this benefit in the current climate is by introducing Always Learning@Home. We are acutely aware that education is currently unpredictable and meeting the academic needs of students learning from home is challenging. So in partnership with our client, Sylvan Learning, we’re piloting a program that provides virtual one-on-one academic tutoring for students in grades K-12, with certified tutors focused on teaching English and Math.

Briefly describe the most-appreciated benefit Axios offers its employees today?

When the pandemic hit, we converted our normal monthly commuter stipend to a $100/month work-from-home stipend. Employees can use that money on anything that makes their lives working from home more enjoyable. We also granted 1 Mental Health Day per month to all Axions.

Why is this a perk you chose to give to your employees?

Our employees’ mental health and wellbeing during a time of global crisis was our collective leadership team’s top priority, so we invested time and money to ensure our team members could stay as well as possible and take good care of themselves.

What have you done to evolve your perks & benefits program in the current shifting business climate?

Prior to making any major changes, we began capturing data via bi-weekly pulse surveys to understand from individual team members how they were doing, if they felt support, and if they were able to find time and ways to be productive. Based on that feedback, we doubled down on benefits that were valued and working well and added on additional support benefits to take care of our people.

Chipotle’s debt-free degrees program allows every eligible employee to receive a free business or technology degree at participating universities with no upfront tuition costs. Our Cultivate Education program offers Chipotle employees multiple choices to assist in their educational goals. While we continue to provide traditional tuition reimbursement of up to $5,250 per year, we are thrilled to have a robust debt-free degree program with one hundred percent of tuition costs covered upfront for our employees. Briefly describe the most-loved/unique benefit Drift offers its employees today?

A company-wide favorite perk at Drift is our sabbatical. Most companies that offer a sabbatical offer it after five years, but at Drift, we offer this perk after three-years. Every employee is eligible for a one-month sabbatical when they hit their three-year mark, and every three years after that!

Why is this a perk you chose to give to your employees?

Our sabbatical offers employees the chance to relax and reset a little bit after all their hard work. People use this time to travel, work on a passion project, or to rejuvenate and spend time with friends and family. We have seen people spend a month motorcycling around Vietnam, move to Cape Cod, learn the sport of horseback riding, and take an extended honeymoon across Australia and New Zealand.

What have you done to evolve your perks & benefits program in the current shifting business climate?

Our employees’ mental health has been top of mind throughout the pandemic, given that it is such a stressful time for everyone. To support employees throughout this, our CEO spontaneously gave the entire company four extra days off (a few summer Friday’s and extra days tacked on to holiday weekends), we provide guided yoga and meditation breaks during the workday, we had two psychologists attend our Friends & Family day event to talk to us about burnout, and we have provided a subscription to the Headspace meditation for all employees free of charge.

We also regularly receive feedback that our culture and friendships made between colleagues is a key selling point, these events help to foster this culture, build and strengthen internal relationships and allow our employees to let off some steam!

What have you done to evolve your perks & benefits program in the current shifting business climate?

Briefly describe the most-loved benefit RingCentral offers its employees today?

There are a lot of things our employees like. The match for our 401(k) is always popular and next year we are expanding it to 6%. We are very supportive of women and working mothers, so in addition to what we already have in place, we will be expanding our benefits to include a newborn welcome gift box shipped to new parents and Milk Stork, a breast milk travel solution for working moms.

The programs in support of working mothers is part of our overall goal to provide as inclusive a workplace as possible. We want everyone who works at RingCentral to bring their whole selves to work everyday!

Briefly describe the most-loved benefit Catalyst offers its employees today?

While we have a wide range of amazing benefits and unlimited PTO at Catalyst, we’re proud to give our employees a mandatory mental health day once per month. This is one day each month where our entire company collectively closes our laptops and takes a break. And of course, we communicate this to our customers well in advance.

Why is this a perk you chose to give to your employees?

We believe the health of our company starts with a happy and healthy team. In this unprecedented time, we know it can be an easy distraction to get lost in our work. On top of that, people are less likely to be taking a vacation right now. This is a way to break that mold and ensure the Catalyst team maintains a healthy work/life balance while encouraging them to keep it top of mind.

What have you done to evolve your perks & benefits program in the current shifting business climate?

In this era of COVID-19, people teams need to adapt their strategy just like customer success or marketing or sales teams. Mandatory mental health days are just one way we’re doing that at Catalyst. And we think it’s powerful that the whole company unplugs together. But we’ve also rolled out a fitness benefit, a mental health benefit, and, among other things, we do a monthly event to get our team together virtually. These monthly virtual events have centered around things like trivia, cooking, online escape rooms, and magicians!
