Be a good employee and do your job without gossiping. Talk to boss and ask what are his expectations of me to better myself and my job.

Most effective way is to take accountability for anything and everything even if it’s easy to point the blame at something or someone else. No excuses. Change your vocabulary to reflect your ownership and willingness to grow.

Address yourself (W a friend's help). Look seriously at what you have & haven't done, AND be honest W/yourself. Once you've done this honestly, then apologize 2 your boss, or get another job.

I've had enough supervisors who don't follow the golden rule that you're doing more harm than good to yourself if you even let him/her think his/her opinions matter, and this only applies to bad supervisors.

Manage up! Understand what he needs to make your team successful and deliver it. Ask how you can help make your team more successful. Don’t take the feedback negatively, use it to address and improve your deliverables. I often see staff take critique and suggestions as an insult instead as a way to help better deliver.

Prove them wrong. If you're always late, show up on time. If you're not meeting work metrics, meet or exceed them. If you have personality conflicts, make an effort to resolve or at least minimize them. Whatever you do, don't try to deflect to your co-workers; even if you have a valid point that's not going to make your boss think more highly of you.
