Yes I did this once. But it was over a gravely serious violation in which my supervisor did very serious harm to me out of negligence.

Anger in and of itself is not bad—anger can happen at work when something we value is threatened. We must express that anger in a way that doesn't negatively affect those around us. Yelling at a coworker as a way to express anger is unacceptable.

no it is not acceptable but it has happened more than once with different employes and they kept their jobs

No. Employees should never yell at anyone, and employers should never yell at anyone -- ever.

At no time or under any circumstance should the voice be raised much less shout, the atmosphere for more intense should be under an order and respect from both parties

There could be. Was it acceptable? Were they venting? Is your relationship casual or formal? Were they being intentionally disruptive/defiant/disrespectful? If that employee is a good performer, consider how you can help them. If they are already a bad performer, the solution may be different.

Check out The Problems of Work by L. Ron Hubbard. Read it, and then think for yourself. You already have the answer within you.

Very seldom unless you are being racist, bigoted, sexist, misogynistic, or spewing hate speech. Of course, here you are yelled at, threatened & attacked if you mention anyone doing those things, while those actually doing it are defended & protected.

When they have been pushed, exploited, ripped off, underpaid, and otherwise taken advantage of by the company, it is understandable.

No. Never. We need to respect each other.

I think there are a few scenarios where it makes sense. For example, if you’re a surgeon and someone is about to do something wrong, it may make sense to raise your voice to stop them. But, yelling should be quick and to the point! Typically yelling can demotivate people and cause a barrier between employees, so use it extremely cautiously and sparingly!

Yes, sometimes you need to let off some steam.

Acceptable? No. It’s not irreparable though. Good employees can get overwhelmed, some cry, some yell. Make sure they know that’s not an appropriate way to handle conflict.

Sure - but they are incredibly few and far between. If an employee yells at their manager the manager should bring this employee into a room and tell them that this is never an acceptable thing to do, in fact, it is something that could lead to immediate termination considering the circumstances.

Yes, of course! You’re not above getting yelled at

Yes. If the building is on FIRE and I have my headphones on, then PLEASE yell at me. Otherwise, not acceptable.

In an life threatening emergency, sure. Outside of such a scenario, I see little legitimate reason that anyone should be subjected to verbal abuse in the workplace.
