Managers-->think ahead of what is to come. They are intuitive, creative, have a backbone and know how to deal with their upper management

Leadership. Being willing to do things others don't want to do. Positive attitude when times are tough
Exceptional people management skills are what separates managers from other employees. A manager who lacks these skills has a huge deficiency in being effective.
Execution and responsibility
Managers should be able to listen and give sound advice. They should see every challenge/mistake/issue as an opportunity to learn and coach.
