I do genuinely believe that most folks are trying to improve the culture and environment at Syntellis. For the most part, people are kind and helpful.
My team is one of the best groups of people I've ever had the pleasure to work with. They're supportive, honest, and kind. They're critical of everything but with a focus on constant improvement. I legitimately like everyone on my direct team.
Unlimited PTO - I will say though that I think some departments are able to take PTO without retribution more than others. I've heard that some roles have KPIs and taking PTO is a strike against those targets which I believe to be unfair.
Communication - so many things Syntellis tries to do that are good, but bungles it by not explaining what's going to happen before it happens. There's an increasing lack of autonomy that I'm seeing occur due to lack of clarity in strategic goals that are actionable.
There is a lot of bureaucracy that I've had to deal with. It has made getting things done very hard and time-consuming. The matrix org structure makes it difficult to know who to talk to/when and who has authority. The company strategy is not clear, so individual decision-making is challenging.
