As a new hire, I got a lot more support from my mentor than I was expecting during the first 2 months. My manager has been overly supportive. I feel like he is advocating for me and working behind the scenes to guide my career in the right direction.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
People care a lot about making sure you are happy firstly because they care about you and secondly because happy people do good work.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
The pay is about 5-10% less for new hires compared to competitors, but it makes up for it in other benefits. My favorite part is the large quantity of vacation. This is really unmatched by competitors.
What makes you most happy at work?
Depends on the task. I like seeing forward progress, checking off activities, and finding new information. When I get the chance, I love dreaming up new solutions. The chance to work with new people is usually the most exciting opportunities.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
I think a select few of them have really exceptional skills. The rest of them seem pretty average. I like how much effort they put in to be personal. Lots of time is spent hosting general Q and A sessions where employees can ask about things that concern them.
What are some of the best things about your team?
I think people care a lot about making friends at the company and this makes it great to work with the team. Overall, I think the team hired above average individuals. When it is crunch time, people do what it takes to get things done, and when it is not, they take the time to relax and help others.
