Chaotic logistical failure, rife with gossip, illegal substances, dangerous coworkers, and favoritism galore. I've worked warehouse jobs for years, this is not a warehouse job, this is a fight for money.
What did you like most about the interview process?
The blatant falsehoods about pay, work rate, demands, and requirements. It gave me so much hope for the job.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
There are hundreds of trucks in the yard that have been at that site for nearly a month, I cannot imagine how the companies that send us these trucks feel about us essentially holding their trucks hostage.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
They need to drop any and all favoritism, and self-righteousness, the "payback", which is a direct quote from my shift lead, for people requesting days off. They need to be willing to fire certain employees who take dangerous illegal substances.
What needs to change to make the company culture better?
If the company could decrease employee turnover, they would be able to fire bad workers, but they simply cannot afford to do so. They spend thousands of dollars on background checks for workers than do not work longer than a few weeks.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
We are paid by incentive, but often times, if we have good days, trucks we complete go missing in the system. I needed to keep a personal notebook on the work I completed to have a chance at getting paid fairly, which resulted in management giving me the worst trucks on the wall.
