I get to work with some of my best friends on interesting and challenging problems. The workload is such that you can collaborate more and you can take the time to do a project right the first time.
One of the things that I have seen, is that roles and responsibilities are clearly defined. So when there is a vacancy there isn't a surprise new list of priorities and much less "fire fighting" than I've seen in other companies.
