PAC was once a great company with a common goal and direction. Culture fostered a sense of teamwork. However, competing ideologies and a disregard for internal development and growth have the company trending on a bad trajectory. Cohesion, processes, and faith in current team members is needed.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Progression plans, clear directives, filtering out superfluous requests/activities, resource loading, future planning, transparency on company direction, general motivation, interdepartmental trust and back channeling, promoting/developing people from within rather than outside hiring
What are some of the best things about your team?
There is a genuine sense of caring for each other. Everybody is in the chaos and stress together. This all goes away once you branch out of the department to other groups.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
There is no oneness in this company anymore. Any faith of growth, development, and progression has been crushed by the increase and consistent outside hiring. The pieces do not necessarily fit together and cause further division between groups and individuals.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
The commandments provide a good base for the company culture to follow. I have been able to foster friendships in my department that result in good teamwork and comradery. However, new hires and individual interest/politics have led to a degradation over the past 2-3 years.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Wages have not been increased to match inflation or general trajectory of the job market. If I was in the market for a new job, benefits are average at best and do not provide enough to be a deciding factor between other opportunities. Near term stability one of few things keeping me at PAC.
