How much would it take to lure you away from your job? For 3 out of 4 of workers, a 20% pay increase would do the job.
The data comes from the latest reading of an ongoing query by Comparably of more than 10,000 workers in tech.
No difference between responses of men and women
Men and women were equivalent in their answers, with 75% of each saying they’d leave their job for a 20% increase.
From a department standpoint
Those in executive roles and HR were more likely than others to forego the opportunity, while those in IT were the most likely to leave for a 20% bump.
By city
Eighty-one percent of workers in Seattle were eager to jump ship for a 20% boost — the most in any city. By contrast, 62% of workers in Ft. Lauderdale would leave, the least of any city.
By education level
People with their bachelors or master’s degrees appeared most willing to leave for a 20% pay boost.
By age and ethnicity
Responses were equivalent across people of all ethnicities and ages, except for the 60-plus crowd, where a 20% salary increase seemed to hold less allure.
The latest reading is as of Jan. 4.
