At a time when the #MeToo and Time’s Up movements have put gender squarely in the national conversation, it’s refreshing to know that there seems to be an even split between those who say they prefer working with men and those who say they prefer working with women.
Men vs. women
Fifty-one percent of men and 52% of women say they prefer to work with women, according to the latest reading of an ongoing query by Comparably. The remainder prefer to work with men. More than 10,000 people across the tech industry responded to the query.

Across the board
The range was between 51% and 52% for workers in every ethnicity.

56% of young workers prefer women
Fifty-six percent of people between ages 18 and 25 prefer to work with women; that’s the most of any age group. The rate declines from there, hitting a low of 47% among those 51 to 55.

Minneapolis is the city where workers most prefer to work with women
Minneapolis, Minn., is the city where workers most preferred to work with women (62%). San Francisco, Boston and San Diego also had above-average rates. Workers in Houston had the lowest rates (44%).
