A dumpster fire is probably the best way to describe it. Jim the CEO is not very good. the company as a whole requires their store and assistant managers to work 48 hours a week during the holidays and doesn't fluctuate their salary. They also require them to work 6 days a week during the holidays.
Toxic environment and you get yelled at a lot

What's the office layout like at f.y.e.?
the store was recently remodeled and if you’re a fairly short person like myself it makes it all that much harder to keep an eye on the customers, especially for theft risk as there’s no cameras in the store
How's the morale at f.y.e.?
there really isn’t one as long as you’re selling the VIP you’re not on the watch list
What's one thing you wish you'd known before joining f.y.e.?
just how bad the store manager in merritt island fl really was

absolutely amazing. the assistant managers were two of the best people i’ve ever worked for

have retail experience!!
How would you describe your overall experience interviewing at f.y.e.?
great in the sense that the fellow employees were amazing. horrible in the sense that the store manager was literally the worst person i have ever had the experience of working with let alone for.

I met with the lead assistant manager and the second assistant/keyholder. the lead assistant took no time in calling me back about my job

they give you a random item and ask you to try and pitch it to them

they hire all walks of life

if you have ever worked retail before and are comfortable upselling let alone asking customers to sign up for VIP programs

barely any hours, you’d be lucky if you got 10-15 a week

if i had retail and register experience. if i knew how to recover and clean the store

they don’t have one

they just fire anyone they think is a risk
How does f.y.e. measure success and growth in the Sales department?
VIP and more VIP. if you’re not meeting their goal for those they will fire you
What skills do you need to be successful in the Sales department at f.y.e.?
as long as you can run a register and not feel bad accosting/harassing customers about a vip card you’ll be fine
How are layoffs handled in the Sales department at f.y.e.?
they bring you in, waste your time and their payroll by making you clock in, just tell you you’re no longer working for them and to go home.
How innovative is f.y.e.?
a 4 on a scale of 1-10. they sell the same pop culture stuff as other stores, at a way higher price
How are the career growth opportunities on the Sales team at f.y.e.?
they’re complete garbage. you only get a promotion if you’ve been there long enough to know the store and someone else gets fired
What should I wear for an interview at f.y.e.?
Wear what makes you feel comfortable, but make sure it's professional. If pants make you comfortable then wear clean jeans or a pair of khakis. Of skirts are what's what's comfortable then wear a clean khaki skirt. Wear a nice collared shirt, long sleeve or short sleeve isn't important.
