How's the vacation policy at Lullabot?
Good. We get a good amount of PTO/sick and we also have a lot of flexibility in terms of flextime
Generous. Working from home helps a ton too.
Great! We get 15 days during the first year and I know it increases beyond that.

I wish I was more familiar with a lot of the collaboration tools that we use on a day to day basis.
How much diversity is there among employees at Lullabot?
Not a ton. But there is a good percentage of women in terms of a technology company. We're open and actively working to become more diverse.
For our industry, better than a lot, but we could always be better.
How's the morale at Lullabot?
Awesome :D
Good as far as I can tell. "Have fun" is one of our core values after all.
What are the team outings like at Lullabot?
Our retreats are fun, exciting, and informative! They revitalize our team and are looked forward to for months.
So much fun! Our company retreat is one of the highlights of the year. The perfect mixture of structured time vs. unstructured time.
What's the vibe like in the Sales dept at Lullabot? How many hours are you working?
It's wonderful! It's a really well balanced team and we work really well together. Nothing ever gets missed or dropped, we have a great system in place and everyone brings their A-game. It's also a fun and friendly team.
Lullabot sales affords a lot of autonomy for its members. Expectations are reasonable. It's rare that we work more than 40 hours per week.
How's the work pace at Lullabot?
It's very reasonable. We work hard, but nobody is asked to do anything that crosses personal boundaries.

We all work from home, so pretty nice!

What kind of interview questions do they ask when hiring someone in the Engineering department at Lullabot?
They ask both technical and values based questions to better understand your skills and who you are as a human being. They are looking for a good match for both the company and the candidate.
What is the best advice you could give someone during their first month at Lullabot?
Soak in what's going on, a lot of really bright awesome people to learn from, don't feel afraid to chip in when there's a question or you notice a problem.
What Engineering department questions did Lullabot ask during your job interview?
They asked me about the projects I'd worked on, what I did, problems I ran into. They asked me a few how to's on how I approach some common and some niche issues in the software we specialize in. We discussed strategies for maintaining a sane codebase and documentation.
Does Lullabot drug test or do a background check?
Definitely no drug test, probably a background check, can't remember.
What's the internship program like at Lullabot?
Doesn't exist. Working on some ideas, nothing's worked out yet.
How does Lullabot handle HR issues?
From personal experience, the best I've seen. The HR department is most concerned about the people, and then the business. They're confidential, empathetic, and very professional.
How innovative is Lullabot?
Fairly, we're innovative inside of the server software we specialize in, but aren't always pushing the envelope in other web technologies.
