Mr. Jaime Contreras has been Senior Vice President of Core Laboratory Diagnostics - Commercial Operations at Abbott Laboratories since September 2013. Mr. Contreras served as Vice President of International Diagnostics at Abbott Laboratories. Mr. Contreras served as Vice President, Diagnostic Commercial Operations, Europe, Africa and Middle East of Abbott Laboratories since 2004. He served as Vice President, Diagnostic Commercial Operations, Latin America division of Abbott Laboratories from June 17, 2003 to 2004. Mr. Contreras first joined Abbott in 1992 and spent 11 years in Commercial Operations in various management positions throughout the world. In 2001, he was named Vice President and general manager of Latin America. Prior to that, he was general manager for the Diagnostics Division in Spain, Portugal and Mexico. Prior to joining Abbott, Mr. Contreras was area Director for Bayer, Co. in Mexico. He has a bachelor''s degree in industrial engineering from the Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana and a master's degree in business administration from the Universidad del Valle de Mexico. From 2001 to 2003 he served as Abbott Laboratories's Divisional Vice President and General Manager, Latin America, Diagnostic Products; from 1999 to 2001 served as General Manager, Spain and Portugal, Diagnostic Products. He has been a Corporate Officer of Abbott Laboratories since 2003.
