Mr. Stephen C. McEvoy, also known as Steve, serves as a Vice President, General Counsel, Director of Business Development and Secretary of Abiomed Inc. and served as its Assistant Secretary. Mr. McEvoy has 15 years of legal counsel experience, with a domestic and international background in SEC filings, research and development, mergers and acquisitions, global operations and business development. Mr. McEvoy joined Abiomed in 2007 from Biogen Idec, Inc., a publicly-held medical therapeutic manufacturer, where he was Chief Operations Counsel and Associate General Counsel and supported the development and execution of mergers and acquisitions, managed the legal aspects of global operations, supported the research and clinical development activities, developed and managed the privacy and compliance program, supported the preparation and filing of SEC required forms, provided general counsel to the Canadian subsidiary and provided legal support for international business activities. Prior to this role, Mr. McEvoy served as an Associate with Palmer & Dodge LLP. Mr. McEvoy received a Bachelor's degree in International Relations at Brown University, a Master's in Business Administration from Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and a J.D. from Columbia University School of Law.
