Asked to all employees at Acquia

  • Relaxed.

  • It depends on your department. It is described as 'unlimited vacation', but individual departments may have fine print that says "the expectation for PTO in your department is 2-3 weeks of vacation per year". Either way, it's pretty good.

  • Unlimited vacation. In my experience, no one is keeping track of it.

Asked to all employees at Acquia

  • I was told that IPO was imminent, within 2-3 months, and options were used to negotiate a lower salary and offered instead of any 401k matching at all. Years later, it seems that IPO may never happen.

  • "Options" for an IPO that was going to happen "any month now" were used during negotiations to lower salaries. Months turned to years; shares are still being sold as an alternative to retirement / 401k shares, but it looks like IPO may never happen. Aside from that, it's a good place to work. It's full of very smart people.
