Virgil R. Miller — President of Aflac Group Insurance and Executive VP & COO of Aflac U.S. at Aflac

Mr. Virgil R. Miller has been President of Aflac Group Insurance and Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Aflac U.S. at Aflac Incorporated since January 4, 2018. Mr. Miller served as senior vice president and chief administrative officer of Aflac U.S. He holds a master's degree in business management from Wesleyan College and a bachelor's degree in accounting from Georgia College. Mr. Miller joined American Family Life Assurance Company of Columbus's (Aflac) management team in 2004 in the Policy Service Department after working in leadership in the property and casualty industry. He was promoted to positions of increasing responsibility, including Senior Manager in Client Services and in Policy Service; Second Vice President of Client Services, Policy Service and the Customer Service Center; and Vice President of Client Services and of Customer Assurance. He most recently served as the operations lead for the Accelerating Change Together (ACT) initiative and was responsible for the day-to-day management of Aflac's Transformation Office. He serves on the board of trustees for Claflin University, the Palmetto Health Foundation Board, the 2017 Group Insurance Executive Council and the Columbia Urban League. He served as a U.S. Marine and is a veteran of Operation Desert Storm. He serves on the Board of Directors for the American Red Cross and was a Member of the United Way Board of Trustees, Leadership Macon and the Community Impact Leadership Board of Central Georgia.
