  • To help us verify your identity, we send a text message (SMS) to your phone. This helps us make sure that you are you and keep out trolls and spammers.

Some carriers and countries have trouble receiving this code. Our team is actively working to provide an improved sign-up experience for those users. In the meantime, please try these steps below if you're struggling to sign up.

If you havent received your verification code:

Make sure your phone can receive text messages currently. If you can receive text messages, try resending the Airtime code again by tapping on "Get Help" and selecting "Send verification code again"to send a new code to your phone.

Try the call option instead! Simply tap "Call me" to receive the code via a phone call.

Confirm that you've entered your phone number correctly. If there was a mistake, tap on "Get Help" and select "Enter a different phone number" to change your number.

Being on a national Do Not Contact list interferes with our ability to send you a text message. Removing your number from the list will help you to receive the code from Airtime.

Be aware that roaming internationallycan impact your ability to receive our text messages. You may need to wait until you are no longer roamingto successfully receive our text message.

If you have received a verification code, but Airtime says its invalid:

In most cases, this error means that your verification code has expired. Keep in mind that your code expires after five minutes. Try resending the code.To do this, tap "Get Help" and then select "Send that code again, please."

  • Some group chats are for friends' eyes only. We get it. That's why each Room you create on Airtime can be as open or as private as you like.

When you create a new Room, you have the option to choose between two Room private settings: "Secret" or "Party."Secret is the most private option. "Party" will open up the Room to friends of friends, inviting people you may not know directly to join. You can always change this setting later.

To change an existing Room's privacy settings:

Tap on Settings (the gear icon) in the upper right corner of the Room.

Scroll down to Room Privacy and select the option that works best for you:

"My Crew Only" (super private; the only way to join is through a member invite)

"All My Friends" (allows friends of friends to join, but everyone else has to request to join it first)

"Everyone" (anyone can find and join the room without requesting access)

"Custom" (make it your own by selecting the privacy options that work for you)

Any time you change a Room's privacy settings to a less private option, the Room's text chat history is cleared.
