They looked at the cultural fit before the technical interview

Covering all aspects of the job requirements

It moved relatively swiftly from initial discussion with the recruiter to first interview with the hiring manager. There was another formal interview with a regional stakeholder and then a final discussion with the hiring manager to give me an opportunity to ask any additional questions.

That my operational manager is very good at what he does and has a good judge of character and great leadership skills and very positive individual

I would take the person out of HR that is the pathological liar. None of the interview processes goes well.
