Ms. Cheryl D. Norton serves as the President of Missouri-American Water Company since November 11, 2015. Ms. Norton has been President of Missouri American Water at American Water Works Company, Inc. since January 10, 2011. She served as President of Kentucky American Water Company at American Water Works Company, Inc. and Indiana American Water Company, Inc. from 2011 to 2015. Ms. Norton started her career with American Water in 1988 as a research technician for American Water's national laboratory in Belleville, Ill., conducting nationally recognized microbiological research related to improving water treatment techniques. She served as the facility's director from 2000 to 2007, when she joined Illinois American Water as its vice president of operations. Ms. Norton received a bachelor's degree in biology and a master's degree in environmental studies from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville.
