Mr. Robert MacLean, also known as Rob, has been Senior Vice President of Its Eastern Division at American Water Works Company, Inc., since March 01, 2017. Mr. MacLean has also been President of New Jersey American Water at American Water Works Company, Inc., since March 01, 2017. He has been President of New Jersey American Water and Senior Vice President of American Water'S Eastern Division at California American Water Company since March 1, 2017. He served a the President of California American Water and President of Hawaii American Water from April 2009 to March 01, 2017 and from November 2011 to March 01, 2017. Mr. MacLean joined American Water in 1999. Mr. MacLean joined American Water in 1999. He was the Director of Field Operations for New Jersey American Water, serving approximately 2.5 million people. Prior to joining New Jersey American Water, he served in various other roles within the American Water organization. He worked for American Water's market-based business, serving as Vice President of Contract Operations. In this role, Mr. MacLean was responsible for managing more than thirty large contract operations and directed approximately 750 employees in both the United States and Canada. He was responsible for drinking water production to over 4 million people through several of the company's largest and most sophisticated treatment facilities and for wastewater services to 1.8 million people. In March 2013, he was elected to the California Chamber of Commerce board of directors. In July 2012, he was elected to the board of Directors of the National Utilities Diversity Council (NUDC), a national non-profit organization focusing on the growth of diversity in the utilities industry. He also serves on the board of the National Association of Water Companies (NAWC). Mr. MacLean earned his Master'S Degree in Applied Science in Civil Engineering from Polytechnique University in Montreal and his Bachelor'S Degree in Chemical Engineering from McGill University in Montreal.
