Mr. Walter J. Lynch has been Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President at American Water Works Company, Inc. since January 1, 2016 and served as its President and Chief Operating Officer of Regulated Operations from July 28, 2008 and February 26, 2010 respectively to January 1, 2016. Mr. Lynch serves as President of National Association of Water Companies from 2014 to October 2015. Mr. Lynch served as President of American Water Services, Inc. since November 2003 and led its 1,400 employees in the United States and Canada. He was responsible for the performance of American Water's 20 regulated states, serving approximately 1,625 communities. He is a 17 year veteran of environmental-related businesses and has experience in engineering, sales and marketing, operations and business development. Mr. Lynch served as President of New Jersey-American Water Company Inc. until 2010. He served as an Executive Vice President of Eastern Division American Water Capital Corp. He served as President of Northeast Region at American Water and was responsible for more than 1,000 employees and for operations. He served as Executive Vice President of Business Operations at Eastern Division of American Water Works Company Inc., from July 2007 to July 28, 2008. He joined American Water in 2001 as President of the Southwest Region and was responsible for 12-state region with multiple business lines. He served as President of Products and Services Group, where he was responsible for overseeing its non-regulated businesses and also led and developed 10 non-regulated business lines with more than $500 million in revenue and 1,500 employees. Prior to this, he served as President of the Southwest Region of American Water Services. Prior to American Water, he was involved with various start-up and growth organizations in the environmental industry. Mr. Lynch served at Mobil Oil Corporation. He has been Director of National Association of Water Companies from 2008 to October 2015. He served the United States Army since 1990, where he attained the rank of Captain. He is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and holds a Bachelors of Science degree in General Engineering.
